Peter, I posted the story of the 'land mine on Jenkin Rd' in the Sheffield Blitz, for my mother, Jean, and in the story she gave an account of how the family canary survived the blast..... I passed on your comments of how you enjoyed the story and she has asked me to pass on her thanks to you for a) reading the story and b) saying that you enjoyed it. You made her day (even though you replied in August and I've only just logged on again !!!) Thanks.
