Dear Peter,
Thank you for taking the trouble to reply at length to my ramblings on NC. I hope to comment further publicly on some of the points you make in good time before the curtain comes down at the end of the year; but my mobility and (physical) vision are limited so that I have to space my activities out.
I see we are much of an age (I was 10 when the war began) but I have vivid, if not always reliable) memories of the things my elders were discussing. Perhaps in London we took more notice of what was going on realising we would be in the front line if it came to war; or perhaps my family discussed international affairs because of my father’s involvement t with transatlantic shipping; or perhaps I was just precocious, and maybe still am.
Best wishes,
Roy.

Hi Roy
We're about the same vintage. I'm a bit younger at 75. Sorry to hear of your limited mobility and impaired vision. I've been very lucky so far.
Best wishes,
Peter
