Dear Peter,
I tried simply typing my story in directly.
It still looks fine in preview (as before) and it is still a solid block of text when saved.
I have come to the conclusion that there is something about the iMac which is just incompatible with your site.

Sorry to hear of your continuing trouble. You might be right about the iMac, although there are other Mac users on the site and the paragraph break command is pretty universal.
Could I point out that it isn't my site, David. I am just a member like you are, the grandiose title 'Site Helper' is freely doled out. I suggest you now go to the Feedback section and contact the WW2 Team there. If they can't sort it out for you at least they will be able to edit your story and separate the paragraphs.
