Dear Peter

Yes, it's "Oh no, it's Him Again" ... again

I tried posting a new "story" (a few words as a test in 3 paragraphs - this time simply typed in rather than pasted). I gave all the information asked for as usual.

I hit Preview and it looked like it looked all the other times.
I hit Save and (different from other times) got only a very much shorter text - without any of the stuff I'd typed in - but in the same sort of codes as usual (all of it reproduced below):-

You are previewing your story:
Error in GuideML

Sorry but this sort of code means nothing to me.

Just look at the above message you have posted. The paragraphs have proper breaks. Forget GuideML and just paste your story in in plain text.

I see you are using a Mac and not a PC, but that shouldn't make any difference as others are using Macs on this website.

As a last resort try this:

1. Highlight all the text of your story.

2. Copy and paste it into your Mac text editor.

3. Put in all the breaks.

4. Copy and paste it back into the WW2 site.

Just another thought that Peter himself gave me some time ago.

Paste the original story into WORDPAD or similar 'text only' editor.
This will destroy all the embedded commands.

Then copy and paste from the 'wordpad' into the BBC site.
Then (stay with me folks) use the para creating method I mentioned earlier.

If this doesn't work come back and tell me to think again

Yes, these messages come out quite normally.

Of course just pasting in the text is what I did 5 times.
It is only because that didn't work that I have looked for something else.
The fact that when I go into edit and then preview I see everything in Guide ML EXCEPT my text suggested that the problem was my mac was not including the right guide ML automatically, so the format was the problem.

I'll try some of your ideas when I have more time

All the best
David
