Hi norcimo, my name is Alison and I am an ACE here on h2g2. This stands for Assistant Community Editor - it's our job to welcome new researchers to the site and make them feel at home. There are loads of ACEs and we're all helpful and friendly. Click here to find out more: Aces
You can update your Personal Space at any time by clicking 'Edit Page'. For tips on spicing up your user page, click here A690518. If you want to see what other people have written on theirs, click their name at the top of a conversation posting.
A really quick way to jazz up your user page or conversations is with the many smileys To see the whole list and how to use them, click here: <./>Smiley</.>
If you haven't done so already, you could check out the <./>Welcome</.> page or catch a and take the <./>DontPanic-Tour</.>. This page may also be useful as it is written especially for beginners A719840. By the way, if you're confused about any of the words or terms used around the site, try looking them up in the h2g2 Glossary A901829.
There are three main things you can do on h2g2 - you can <./>read</.> what others have written, you can <./>talk</.> to the rest of the community, or you can write your own entries for others to read: Writing-Beginners If you want something to read you could try h2g2's own weekly newspaper <./>ThePost</.> which is full of cool articles, stories and cartoons. Or if you feel really daring, you could try a <./>RandomEditedEntry</.> Who knows what you'll end up with!
Well hopefully that should be enough to get you started. If you have any questions or just want to chat, click reply and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Or go to the Ace's homepage using the link above and ask there! Someone will be more than happy to help!
In the meantime, have some , explore the site and enjoy yourself!
