h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Like willow tree, this is fiction as far as I am concerned, although a few lines are about some people I know. It can be sung to the same timing (but obvously not length) as the slower vereses in American Pie, having no knowledge of music, I cant get any more specific.

It was such an amazing sight
Have the stars ever shone so bright
but even they could not compare
to the stunning beauty of her hair

It was months till again me meet
even closer we seemed to get
attachments soon were put aside
it seemed one day she'd be my bride

But where was there left to go
Could our relationship still grow
More challenges we had to face
Had we already run our race?

Our paths drifted away from then
we swore we'd come back again
friendship we did guarantee
but this shattered poor ol' me

I walked down an empty street
merely following my feet
stumbled across a lonely bar
there I found a bright new star

My words did not fail me
but out my soul for her to see
She seemed to know just what to say
her words truly made my day

Her Wisdom again I did seek
goregous looks made my legs week
I hoped my problems werent a bore
we resolved to see each other more

We went out upon the town
I had no misery to drown
we both made the whole world shine
I hoped, one day, she would be mine

In a day or so I got a call
My ex, "could you come down to the mall"
what on earth was I to do
I honestley thought we were through

We met up at our old Haunt
her good looks she did flaunt
then I did realise this fear
my thoughts of her were till quite dear

I thought which way should I go
I loved both these girls so
I needed to sort out myself
for the sake of all our health

I took a sudden trip away
far too short was my stay
I thought I sorted out my head
but breaking it off caused me much dread

My ex and I did say goodbye
I did love her, I didnt lie
but we both knew its for the best
she could only be a test

more trials together we did trump
that was only one mere bump
I think you know where that led
one spring day we both were wed

I saw my ex not long ago
to our old haunt we did go
we both had changed far too much
we have not been back in touch

I look forward to those long nights
when both of us go see the sights
come what may, for this I know
how deeply I love my dear so.
