A Small Smile

One of my Poems (also published up here) is doing quite well in a contest at poetry.com "Voyages End" (its the one with the ship if you go looking through the old Journal entries), they also wish to publish it, theres more detail in a reply to that post.
Here is todays piece, "A Small Smile"
Deep within the garden of dispair
Grows a small, yet fragrant rose
The gardens overgrown with weeds
yet that flower amazingly grows
Dispair they say is in the mind
Like a shadow, its forever there
Sometimes small, but often huge
Light grows when they say they care
A small smile, be upon my face
Today was good, forever remains
I'll fight the monster in my mind
With strength, courage and brains
A Small Smile

The first verse is the strongest, and carries the third.
I originaly began writing a delieriously happy poem, but it didnt work out well, so I restated on a more mellow one... I think it sums up my thoughts nicely.

I think "and brians" is a bit strange it sounds like your enjoying some sweetmeats.

Sweetmeats?
Brains was the only word that worked that rhymed with Remains.

Sweetmeats is the name given to offal, liver, brians, tripe, haggis, marrow and so on. No idea why.
