Damn Interplay

I'd like to take this opportunity to condemn the people at interplay.
For those of us who like decent games, the death of project "Van Buren", or, as those of us in the real world call it, Fallout 3 is a major blow.
Once upon a time, Interplay with pride used the slogan "By Gamers, For Gamers". Judging by the responses people have gotten to thier emails condemmning this move, This is not true anymore, since they end the release with lines basicaly saying that its for shareholder maximisation that they now live.
This is only another step in the continuing trend in this industry, We now see fewer and fewer unique and different games, instead being fed a diet of clones and drones whos biggest selling point is their fancy graphic.
It appears the gaming industry, with the exception of perhaps firaxis has now matured into a new hollywood, where new stuff is taboo, because they know rehashing last nights meal is going to surfice. In a world of crap, mediocraty rules, unfortunately.
I for one say damn the graphics. I want a great game with a great storyline, with a whole lot of great problems to solve. As long as I know which dot is me, which dot is the bad guy, and which dot is the sacred item im trying to get, I dont care what it looks like.
In the words of the band regurgator, I like your old stuff better than your new stuff.
I hope that people like Sid Meir, Brian Fargo, Roberta Williams, Will Wright, Chris Roberts, and the guy who invented tetris all get together, and found a big bohemoth of a company, then, perhaps then, we'd have some decent games come out, instead of the occasional diamond in the rought we get today. Perhaps then, companies that only care about overcharging for crap, like Interplay (since Brian Fargo Left), Sierra (Casino empire, good idea, but it seems unfinished), EA, Atari (or whatever they want to call themselves today) and the Evil Emapire (Microsoft, who wouldnt know a debugging process if it ran up to them, kissed them on the lips, and then sang the national anthem) would start actualy making decent software.
There, Rant over. No poem, Im not in the mood.
