Black-Eyed Girl... Sometimes the only sane answer to an insane world is insanity!

Now, for you dedicated fans of both Xena and Buffy, you may know that some of the people who worked on the Xena musical episode, 'Lyre, Lyre. Hearts of Fire' also had a hand in the Buffy musical,' Once More With Feeling'.

Now my Xena knowledge is slightly hazy as the UK has only just got round to showing past the 2nd season, but as far as Im aware, there was never a regular character in Xena called Tara, and I may be very wrong!

Anyhoo, this wondering comes as I sit here listening to the Xena soundtrack. There is a song on there called 'Tara's Dance' which doesn't feature in the episode, but seems to bear heavily on the Willow/Tara relationship in Buffy. These are the lyrics, Buffy fans, you decide if the guys working on both musicals got slightly confused!!?

Tara's Dance:

I'm a candle in the dark,
my future flickers for my eyes,
I'm too restless to be satisfied with silence,
So I'll push further through the night.
Say you want to put me out and then I'm wrong,
No, I've heard these lies before,
'Cause the fire inside, it just keeps burning,
Just won't stand it anymore.
You cam along, you pulled me up when I was down
The way you made me feel just took me by surprise.
You took my hand, ou stole my heart, you fed the fire.
When you moved with me you gave me back my life.

Let the spirit move me!
Let the spirit move me!
Let the spirit move me!
(Repeat many more times!)

Now is it just me or are the last few lines particularly relevant to Willow and Tara?

There is a Xena character named Tara. She appeared in 2 eps, "Forgiven" and "A Tale of Two Muses". Kind of a punk kid who initially wanted to replace Gabrielle and be Xena's sidekick.

That's the explanation from the Xena side of the story smiley - geek
