Looks fun! This method is partly covered under the headline "The Slice", but your points may very well be taken in during the next update of the article.

Yeah, it's kinda like the slice, but you do it entirely with a spoon (I think I said tap it with a knife in my post - I always do it with the side of the spoon). I've tried the slice and can never do it without smashing up the shell. With my method you tap the shell all the way around the circumference of the egg and then lift it off so that you get a good clean cut. Whenever I've seen people 'slice' their egg open they do it with a knife like slicing a carrot when you hold it in your hand instead of doing it on a board.
