OK Arty, the challenge is this:
Consider the word TEA. This can be rearranged to make anagrams EAT and ATE, so you have three anagrams of a three letter word which all begin with a different letter.
The challenge is:
1) Do the same with a four letter word (easy)
2) Do the same with a five letter word (difficult)
I can't beat 5 letters, so let me know if you can.
p.s. Official Scrabble Words only.
Cheers, Icy

as the 4 is easy I'll ignore it
A 5 lettermuch more challenging!
Here's one (Caper,Pacer,Recap)and another(Caret, Cater,React)(Vales,Salve,Slave)
Now, 6 will have to wait as it's taken me the best part of the night to work out those
Oh wait stop post!...(Asleep,Please,Sapele,Elapse)
And a 7? Gosh I really feel as though I've achieved summit here(Redoubt,Outbred,Obtrude)!
Excellent thanks for that,I've exercised my brain for tonight
Oh and by the way ,I paint modern was not mine(wish it was!)and also Ten elite brains both were heard on a bbc3 prog entitled "Mindgames"
Hows about an 8 (Nameless,Maneless,Lameness)
Enough for the mo...
my friend!

Arty,
It's not quite that easy!
You need four anagrams of the four-letter word, and five anagrams of the five letter word, etc. I should have made this more clear

Ah so does this mean you are aware of five five-lettered words that are natural anagrams?
And if I give you six six-lettered words will I satisfy the challenge...?

Icy North Posted Jan 19, 2005
Remember they all must begin with a different letter.
I can only do 6 with an obscure word (can't find it in any on-line dictionary) and a proper noun.
Cheers,
Icy

And, to answer your question, I have acceptable answers for 4 and 5 letters. Find these to fulfil the challenge.

Here's a four-letter answer, Arty. I'll leave the five letter one for you to do in an idle moment:
STOP/TOPS/OPTS/POTS

Hi Rudolph,
No, each anagram must start with a different letter (see previous example).
I can only think of one example for 5 letters, but I'm sure there will be others.
(I'm not sure what list you mean)

Rudolph if you go look at the anagrammitis main page you are on the list
If you look at your own personal space there is a link for anagrammitis as a page created(I created)by yourself..that's it..no big mystery
