I'm posting this early so I can pour myself a and settle down in front of Netflix.
Remember when I posted that I'd spent a couple of days researching the packages for the new server that's going to host my "Mustardland"?
Well, an hour (£60) into the installation I got an email from 34SP querying the fact that one of the packages I had asked them to install had been discontinued. Two years ago.
I headed back to the Ubuntu Wiki, where I had referred to the list of packages available in 14.04LTS. The list had vanished.
I rummaged for a while and found the list - attached to the 10.04LTS page.
It would seem that while I was looking up the Wiki, somebody was in the process of adding the 14.04LTS pages, and to speed things up they had just copied the whole 10.04LTS pageset over wholesale, then set about editing it. And I saw the list of packages before they got round to deleting it. So, now I'm £60 out of pocket and we've loat a day as I've had to tell 34SP to ignore everything I asked them to do and start again.
Other than that, little has happened today. I ran the washer/drier, and I had a very nice lunch (Mushroom and Gruyère in a pastry parcel) plus a couple of good 'phone conversations with my pals Gordon and George.
But I haven't got round to watching any TV yet. There's nothing worth watching on any of the Freeview channels tonight, so I'm going to pour myself a and fire up Netflix. I may watch "John Dies at the End".
