h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I was trying to fix the computer this morning.

Except I couldn't get a minute to myself. First it was the District Gnurse, then a visit from James "the Weird Person" who had got none of my emails and was blissfully unaware that I had been ill, and finally Grambo who turned up to ask a string of questions about a job he had applied for that there was no chance of me knowing the answer to, at the same time I got my shopping delivery from Tesco. I left him alone in the living room for fifteen minutes or so while I put the shopping away, and by the time I got back he had got bored and screwed up some carrier bags to jam into a glass I had left on the table. That still had 2cm of water in it. That I had carefully measured out as my drinking allowance for the afternoon. Three feet from an actual rubbish bin. Git.

Once I had got shot of everybody I finished installing PointLinux 2.3 64-bit on THE PENGUINATOR. It was a little tricky - I had to hack it to mount my /home directory as the installer would only allow me to put it on the same physical drive as the / directory - but once that was done I got all my files and settings back, and the machine even seems a little faster. Oh, and I finally got my DigiGuide TV Guide back too.

I watched "Line of Duty", (with a bottle of rather nice Apple and Apricot , the reason I was drinkling so little during the day) "Castle", most of "Law & Order: UK" (the recording cut off the end ) and "W1A".

I'm off to treat myself to a small glass of Umbongo, and then crash.
