Last week I bought an uninstall utility package for my Macbook. I had the option of just getting it as a bare one-time download for $16, or getting it on a physical CD as well for a total of $32. So, I blew an extra $16 (roughly £10) on the CD option. It arrived today...
Far from being a "pressed" CD, it was a 20-cent "gold disc" with the name of the package printed on the front by inkjet. To add insult to injury it didn't contain the installer in a way that you could actually install from the disc, just a copy of the ZIP file I had downloaded a week earlier. Oh, and the cardboard envelope it arrived in was glued down in such a way that you had to shred it to get the disc out. And that's all the packaging that was supplied - there wasn't as much as a paper sleeve.
I was *not* impressed.
George gave me a lift to the clinic and back to get my pressure dressings changed, for which I was extremely grateful as the Oil Exhibition had swallowed up all the taxis for the day.
Bisset and Hazel are also back from holiday today; apparently they had a really good time - I chatted to them on the 'phone at length in the afternoon, till Bisset's 'phone battery ran out.
I've been feeling devoid of energy and a bit breathless all day. When I woke up it was as if I had awoken on a mountain top, the air "felt" so thin.
I watched "Suits", "Stargate SG-1", "Battlestar Galactica", (a double-length feature episode for the start of season 4) "Wire in the Blood" and "Covert Affairs".
