I've got OSX on the laptop now, in a form that I can start up maybe 3 times out of 4... And I've installed the "30 Day Demo" releases of Photoshop and Dreamweaver, just to prove it can be done.
But there was a long pause in the middle while I was waiting for my shopping to arrive, then a brief flurry of activity when Tesco 'phoned to say it would be late, then another long pause when it actually arrived.
I've downloaded, but have yet to install, the "VirtualBox Extensions" that will allow me to pass files and content back and forth between the two OSs on-the-fly using the clipboard.
But I need to stop now because I have a Nephrology appointment in the morning.
I watched "The Returned", (very good!) "Family Guy" and "24".

Downloading Mint for the Ultrabook... it might not work very well as the machine doesn't like Ubuntu and has worked well with Fuduntu; but I can't do anything with that distro now as you know, so I'm trying Mint... probably foolish. I haven't got any other up-to-date distro disks.

It's OK. I prefer Fuduntu, but as you say it's dead now.
I haven't had an opportunity to switch the laptop on today. Hopefully I'll get to finish patching the OSX installation when I get home from having my pressure stockings changed tomorrow.
