I've *almost* got a copy of OSX 10.8 running in a virtual machine on the new laptop. It's not *quite* starting up, but I've overcome most of the problems so I just need to troubleshoot this one last niggle...
During the afternoon, while I was waiting for the latest disk image to download, I watched "Star of Midnight", an old William Powell/Ginger Rodgers RKO movie. It's the sort of thing that BBC2 used to put on on a Saturday lunch time, but now in this age of PVRs they chose to hide it away at 7:15am.
I also watched "Arne Dahl". I'm off to watch "Burn Notice" as soon as I post this...
I must remember to run the washing machine tomorrow - I have to head out on Monday.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
