My knee was really bad last night, with "shock" pains every couple of minutes when it wasn't moving, which basically kept me awake all night.
The dishwasher engineer came just after 8am, and lo! he did fix it.
It took him an hour, which will cost me £90, to find that it had been installed on a slight slope, so that a tiny amount of water had been leaking over the door lip for over a year until it had reached the floaty trip switch and caused it to shut down. All because I didn't think to use a spirit level when I set it up, despite the manual strongly suggesting that I did.
He's levelled it now, so there should be no more unplanned shutdowns for the foreseeable future. Now I just have to wait for the invoice to arrive...
And he was a very pleasant guy to chat to while he worked - in the gaps when he was waiting to see if it heated up or drained he told me he was really into the "Paranormal". I impressed him greatly with my book collection - he was born a generation too late to know who Von Daniken was! I gave him a URL card and invited him to drop into "Mustardland" when he was off-duty.
Other than that, and a two-hour nap after lunch, I spent much of the day playing with the new laptop. I finally got a copy of "KompoZer" to run, but it was an older version and it was a Windows version running under WINE. Still, it's a start...
OSX 10.8 still eludes me, though.
I watched "Stargate SG1", half-watched "The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists!" and watched "Despicable Me".

I am sorry for your pain, Peet.
Meanwhile it's Saturday 8th June here at 02.42am in the morning, so everyone is asleep in bed while I keep my solitary vigil wondering how my window repair work is going to survive the frontal systems which buffet the Cape of Good Hope and make it sometimes the Cape of Storms, Hard to Cross and at others, the Cape of Impossibility where Only Heroes Dare.
Quite a lot of rainfall.
