h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

My Mum gave me some money to start an ISA savings account with for my birthday - six months ago - and I only just remembered about it! (11pm) It's been languishing in an interest-bearing account, so it wasn't a total loss...

I did a search on the FSA site for the cheapest Ethical Tracker fund, and moved the cash from my savings account to my current account, thence to Legal & General via Barclays via my Lloyds TSB Visa Debit card... All in about 20 minutes, including reading the small print and printing out my receipts.

I spent the later half of the afternoon in the pub with my pal Bob discussing the AOPL website that he's signed on to do the scripts for. He's a little gung-ho; I had to talk him out of generating a couple of JPEGs on-the-fly using PHP on the server, where two static GIFs and a bit of DHTML positioning would achieve the same effect... It was a fun session, and I've made arrangements to drop my spare server round to his place at the weekend so we can freely test his scripts offline.

A few s did wonders in settling my stomach down, but I'm afraid that might simply be a case of the alcohol nullifying the effect of the antibiotics for a while.
