The day has kind of gone up and down. On the plus side, I got the last info required for the company registration phoned through to the solicitor; we should have the "final" draft of the Articles of Association by Friday. If we all sign it the following Wednesday, we could have the lease for the premises signed as soon as a week on Monday! I made some progress on the AOPL site design, and I finally managed to set up a workbench to fix my PVR PC. (Although visitors prevented me from actually making any progress on it tonight... )
On the down side, my friend Mairi's mother died this morning. We'd been expecting it for weeks, and I had told her that if she needed to talk she could call me, but when she did call me (to hassle me about a laptop of mine that had been left at her house) I was in the process of taping "The Bill" for James the Weird Person; I'd promised to tape it while he is away hitch-hiking across Eastern Europe, and I need to pause out the ads to fit all the episodes on the tape he supplied. I was juggling the phone, a remote control and a pair of headphones that were falling off, trying to keep my thumb hovering over the "pause" button without actually bumping it and still follow the plot to anticipate the ad breaks. The upshot is that I wasn't as supportive as I could have been, and I feel really bad about that.
Slightly less bad, but still unpleasant, my stomach has been churning continuously all day, with gas escaping from "both ends". It makes it hard to concentrate, and I also find it hard to focus on the screen at the moment, even wearing my glasses. I assume it's just the cumulative effects of the antibiotics... Six days down, twenty-two to go...

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
