Hi Gnomon
I think this is a great entry. It makes me want to go and explore the area.
How do we know that the Niaux Cave Paintings ? I know that's pedantic, but the sentence seems a bit glib and out of kilter with the rest of the writing.
<..there is Skiing in the Pyrenees> I'm not sure there should be a capital S there?
When was Villefranche do Conflent built to withstand cannon fire? And why was it being attacked?

Good points, Frenchbean! I've corrected Skiing, I've changed the statement about the painting looking fresh and I've added some more info about Villefranche.

Reading this makes me want to book a flight to the French Pyrenees - what more can I say?
I only picked up on two things. You've managed to get the accent's over the e's in Pyrenees every time... except in the title line. Is this because it's not possible to put in the special letters there, or a small oversight?
Secondly, in the section on Biarritz, I reckon it'd read more smoothly if you wrote "so it is no longer", instead of "so it is not now".
Anyway - must go. Want to book that flight...

I deliberately left out the accents in the title line because it causes problems when the entry appears on the Front Page.
I'll make that change you suggested about 'no longer'.

well, mutual congrats, then,
I hope it should be easy to inter-link this with my Cassoulet job... I only wrote it for that purpose!
Anyway, this is a rather more ambitious effort, and a fine addition to the 'hitch-hikers' side of the guide,

As soon as a 'Recommended' version of your Cassoulet entry becomes available, I'll put a note here asking the Sub-editor to link to it.
