The Entry correctly says that nettles are a good source of vitamin C, which breaks down at high temperatures. Fortunately, they are very tasty raw, and you don't need rubber gloves.
Pick the leaf carefully near the stem, avoiding contact with the main body of the leaf. Hold it upside down and look carefully; you'll see that all the stinging thorns are pointing downwards. You can remove them without getting stung by stroking the leaf from base to tip - don't do it the other way! When you're sure you've got rid of them all, roll the leaf into a ball in the palm of your hand and, when you've broken up the fibres nicely, it's ready to eat.
