Hi, I'm 16 and am starting to look at universities and courses now ready for next year. I'm interested in art and writing too and just wondered if you took either of them at either A level or University? I'm a bit stuck at the moment because I can't decide which one I'd rather concentrate on although I'm finding it easier to get into writing courses as I have to a year of foundation art to get into art courses.
If you didn't do either at university which would you have concentrated on more? Basically I'm asking which one you think is best to aim at as a career? Sorry to bother you with this I was just wondering what other peoples opinions were on how easy it is to get into writing or art as careers.
Did any of that make sense? lol, I hope so.

Maybe you could do English and art As's and decide later.
I think your writing is good. I've just read some of your works, I hope you don't mind. You have a lot of talent.
You could post the question on round table and see what everyone says, they'd love this one.
I wouldn't like to say whether one would make a better career than the other and you don't need to choose now anyway. You could still write if you choose art and vice versa.
There are loads of courses at uni try the UCAS site but don't worry about it.

sorry forgot to answer one bit of your question. I did A level English and a English Lit degree. I prefer to write.

Thanx. I've been looking at universities on the UCAS site and think I'm probably more likely to go into writing but I don't want to give up my art either so I hope I'll still carry on with it even if I'm not studying it. I am doing English Lang, Lit and art at AS and love all three. Thank you for reading my work too!
I'm also thinking of combining creative writing with english lit. Anyway I'm still thinking at the moment, like you said I don't have to decide yet. Thanx again. Goth xx
