There are three main things you can do on h2g2 - you can <./>read</.> what others have written, you can <./>talk</.> to the rest of the community, or you can write your own entries for others to read: Writing-Beginners If you want something to read you could try h2g2's own weekly newspaper <./>thepost</.> which is full of cool articles, stories and cartoons. Or if you feel really daring, you could try a <./>RandomEditedEntry</.> Who knows what you'll end up with!

Dear Alison,

Thanks for getting back to me so soon.

I logged into h2g2 several months ago and then got distracted by several other activities including school. I have some difficulty figuring out how to do some things on h2g2, but enjoy the conversations etc.

Do you like computers at all in general?... or are they more like an appliance for you?

I enjoy music very much and listen to the BBC Radio 3 in the evenings, while I do some computer work or play a game...Do you know Civilisation III?

Also, I find Linux very interesting and work on a project to build a Linux/Unix network with some friends and a brother of mine. I plan to do some research on h2 to find some info on Linux users that hopefully are attached to this site.

Are you in school now for this term?... How is it to work in the pub?

Yes, the conversations part of h2g2 is very good - you'll find there's a very strong sense of community. If you have any difficulties with anything in particular, just shout and I'll try to help you out.

I am not in school right at the moment because I am about to go to university next week. It's very exciting but also quite scary as I'll be several hours drive away from home!

No, I don't know Civilisation III I'm afraid. Computers do not interest me that much in themselves, like you say, they are more an appliance for me. I'm getting a new laptop for universtiy tomorrow though, so that's quite cool
