Hello BFM!

At last I have a bit of time to go back through my postings and speak to some that I have sadly neglected.

How are you and your gorgeous grandchildren? One 6 (7?) year old and a pair of 4 year old twins I seem to remember. I bet they keep you busy, don't they.

My granddaughter went to school full time in January and seems to be coping very well with the academic side, but not too well with the "friendship" side. She can't quite get the knack of "sharing" friends, and becomes possessive about anyone who befriends her. Woe betide them if they speak to someone else!! We are trying to put her on the right track, but it has lead to many afternoons walking home from school with her gently weeping, or openly and loudly smiley - wahsmiley - wah because the recent "friend" has spoken to someone else, or suggested that three of them play together!

Her brother, my 3 year old grandson, started playschool, and also goes to a gym club for tots one morning a week, which helps him expend the enormous amount of physical energy he seems to have! He is very loving, but has a tendency to throw things if events aren't going his way.

Number 2 grandson, turned 2 just a couple of weeks ago, and he is a different kettle of fish altogether. Plays endlessly on his own, has a vivid imagination, so much so that he often wakes up in the night because he has had a dream, and he doesn't quite understand the concept of "dreaming" yet. Is currently organising Daddy into setting up the swing he had given him for his birthday in the garden.

But what news of you, BFM, I have rabbitted on enough about me. What season are you in on your side of the pond? It's late winter here, but still cold, miserable, and very damp. Evenings are getting longer though.

What you doing with your life at the moment?

Look forward to hearing from you

Oh BFM, you sounded so "down" on the Limerick thread smiley - hug. What's been happening to you? I have missed you and McOggie (although I am afraid I have feared the worst for him, but you seldom get to know on this site, do you, what has happened to people who suddenly disappear).

The reference to Iowa passed me by, I'm afraid. Could you tell me about it?

Hi, Gran, been a bit misjointed of late. Oggie's absence has concerned me, also. Seems lots of the old gang have dropped by the wayside.

Iowa only means that we travelled there for oldest daughter's graduation from the university of Iowa with her master's degree in stage management, from a very prestigious program.

It's about 1300 miles, or 2080 km from our home in Florida. We seldom stray more than 2 or 3 miles from homestead, under normal conditions.
