You came back!
Nice to see you again!
Like the new smileys?
All your stuff will come back, you can reactivate your entries yourself, and the postings & Journals will return, they're being put back most recent first, so all of yours are still hidden because they were written ages ago.
Nice to see you again, are you going to stay? Come along to the next meet-up on July 7th?

Eeeee, it's not like it were when I were a lad. All then pages was just green fields.
Well, I was alerted by a friend that there was a revolution going on, so I though I'd best make an appearance, and see what subversion and subterfuge was going round.
I think I've sussed out the reconversion process, so am working my way back though my pages, sorting them out. The codings not quite as open to abuse as it used to be, is it!
What about yourself, how's it all going at H2G2?

Hiya
Check out the new smileys over at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A155909 There are loads now, and we may be going to add even more soon.
Subterfuge, yes some, but not as cool as the no spitting. You have no idea how hard it was to keep that rule when we went over to the Beeb, they just *didn't get it*.
Yes, coding we had to make it a bit more secure when we went over to the Beeb, and no pictures anymore that was a bit of a blow. I'm hoping to get some back up soon by uploading some of the general ones, societies and so on, and make a community art section for people pick from. You can use the official graphics, and there are so quite cute ones now, have a gander, you'll find them in the about h2g2 section of the categorisation system, front page top left? That was probably not there either when you left was it?
I'm fine, still enjoying it, and they new people on the team are great, Sam, Ashley and Abi. We've moved over to Bush House on the Strand now, nice office, all in together, but not as much fun as the old ramshackle TDV office in Covent Garden. That was a dump, but nice in a bizzarre sort of way.
So how have you been? What have you been doing? And how could you stay away for so long!

Found the smileys. You have been hard at work. I'm amazed there could be so many!! Graphics pages are also rather good. Very good design having the code so you can just cut and paste it into your pages. Though it's a shame you can't link to external content anymore!! Still I guess the Beeb can't take those kind of risks!! (Did they know what kind of monster they were taking on?)
>You have no idea how hard it was to keep that rule when we went over >to the Beeb, they just *didn't get it
I would have loved to have been there when you tried to explain that rule to the Beeb!!
>That was probably not there either when you left was it?
I don't think any of it was!! WE'd gone multi page in forums and a few other niceties, but I wasn't around much after the first Ripley build.
Bush House, very posh!! they're looking after you well enough then!
I've been ploughing my way along in the Intranet world. Just changing jobs today actually (though only moving 50 yds). Going from 50% content management, 50% technical role, to 80% technical role. Applications development and that sort of nonsense!! Still, it keeps me in chips!
In other spheres of life, have bought a house, released 2 CDs and am working on an album at the moment - hence my woeful absence from H2G2 (that and just running away when I first saw the alabaster version)
Anyway. Still I shall try and appear a little more regularly than the last aborted return from retirement!! Can I get a print out of my ID and stuff so I don't forget it again? It was pure luck that I guessed my old H2G2 ID and was able to get back in - it's a good think I'm a creature of habit!
Glad you're still around and loving it.

Two CD's huh? We're going to start up a Community Ethernet 'radio' station soon, and ask community members to submit sound files. Maybe you'd be interested in contributing some of your music?
Hey a new job - good luck with it...
Speak to you laters, I'm going off-line in a tad. Back laters though.

Radio station sounds like a great idea, and we already have a fair bit of our musinc on line, so would be v. interested in that.
Anyway, best pack me bits and find my new 'ome...
talk to you later.
