The best British Sci-Fi is well loved many years after it was first shown, there are repeats all around the world nearly all of the time, most of the episodes are avaliable on Video or DVD and on November the 23rd will celebrate it's 40th birthday. But Enough of Doctor Who. Another of thwe Great British Shows has to be Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet et al.
Gerry Anderson created a Group of television Series which were both entertaining and in a way educational. The budgets were not too high, the sets were tiny, even the actors were wooden (Though they were better than American acting at the time). Of course all of te characters were puppets, the adventures were total flights of fancy, and none of the vehicles could have been made when the series' were created, the sereies still hold a charm with modern children (And some adults too). The sixties produced the Best British Sci-Fi, WHAT did it produce in America? STAR TREK. (enough said.)smiley - cool

Dr Who is still being made, just not on telly. It still exists on the BBC website as radio shows. New audio plays featuring Peter Davidson, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy or Paul McGann are available. And there are enough books being published. Dr Who is still alive, but in different forms.

Big Finish is doing a very good job of carrying on the Doctor Who legend, broadening the universe to inlclude Benice Summerfield's adventures, and the Unbound series.
