What a lovely man - I'm sorry you didn't have more reviewers in PR
How awful that he chose that way to die I hope he didn't suffer.

My father was also a Normandy Veteran, he also loved daffodils (as do I)
I wondered if Lady Bibby was still alive - you speak of her as if she is. I tried to find Sir Derek on Wiki - and I found an American athlete with the same surname (unrelated I'm sure) but his date of birth struck me - same as my older daughter!

I'm burning the midnight oil here and very tired so I am off to bed now.

Yes, I also hope he didn’t suffer at the end - it was a sad event indeed... The daffodils are a fine legacy, though Yes, Lady Bibby is 83 and still involved with The Bibby Line - she moved away from the Grange some years ago, so I haven’t seen her recently, but I have met her a few times over the years since I left her excellent playschool (She was very good at including me in activities, so I didn’t have to worry about being disabled, and I enjoyed the fun ways she taught us )
