Can I ask a couple of quick questions:
Do you have to take the lift, or can you ascend stairs?
Also, do they ever have celebrities abseiling down the beacon for charities?

Yes - visitors to the Beacon these days have to use the lift - when they have finished enjoying the view, visitors return to the lift and a member of staff escorts them back down to the ground level
I see an event involving people abseiling for charity took place in 2018

"120 metres or approximately 394 feet" --> approximately 120 metres or 400 feet

When I woke up this morning, my first thought was 'It's 390 feet to two significant figures, not 400 ' but the Editors sorted it out for me, phew!
