I too have pondered the relevance of belly button fluff (herein "BBF"). It would seem to be a by-product of an essential life process - but which I do not know. A similar grey fluff can be found in the exhaust of a tumble dryer - but I can see no similarities between by belly button and a tumble dryer! Here's a quick question - Do people with "outies" still get fluff buildup?

Yet more research is required untill the full truth can be known!!!
Trouble is, I'm not sure if it's healthy to body and mind to contemplate the problem for too long.

I'm afraid the men in white coats came a long while ago. They came, they saw, they restrained. But now I am FREE! Free to explore the mysteries of the universe (which do include the odd little stare at a lava lamp or two - but only when exploring another cosmic plane, man!)Well, seeing as we're talking now, I guess we had better think of something else to chat about. How come the bread always lands butter side down? What's OUTSIDE the universe? Who always leaves wet handprints on the toilet door handle? The universe is chocka with unanswered questions. I guess thats why the Guide was set up. I've got my theories. My off-world freinds have their answers (you meet a lot of those as a UPI). But will we ever REALLY know?
