I'm sure that everything you're saying above makes sense. It reminds me of a famous quote from the car manufacturing pioneer Henry Ford, who said: "I have had many troubles in my life, most of which never happened".
Yes, worrying doesn't help the future and stops you enjoying the present. I know that, but at times like now when I can't pay the rent I still have sleepless nights during which I log on to h2g2. Ah well...

Ah, yes, but there is a difference between worrying about problems that don't exist (hopeless) and trying to solve problems that DO exist. I must admit that it's a rough time of year to come up short on the ol' rent money, and I don't know why you are in this situation (Lord knows, it can happen to the best of us...), but every real problem has a real solution. Sometimes you just have to look at it from a different angle. (Personally, I like to look at my problems whilst standing on my head. Kidding. Haha.)
All the best....

When I have a problem, I do something. Sometimes to solve the problem, sometimes just something to soothe the mind (cup of tea does the trick for me). Either way, do something deliberately. If you don't, your mind makes problems where none were in the first place.
That's just my theory.
