Hello sonshi. I see you are a brand new member here - Welcome!

http://www.myspace.com/christiangenzel

smiley - erm Do you happen to be one and the same with Christian Genzel?

forgive me for being a cynic if I am wrong - but this last bit seems to imply it
>>>Although no producer willing to finance the documentation has yet been found, Genzel is determined to make it happen. I can only wish him the best of luck, in my very own interest.

Opticalillusion- media mynx life would be boring without hiccups

For a newbie this is great stuff. I'd better watch out.

Be careful when writing dates <> should be <>

Right ...once you've written his full name out, you can then just use his last name everywhere else

There should be a gap between the bond film and bracket

You can also link to other entries here on h2g2

Numbers one to ten are written as thus. Numbers 11, 12, 13 and so on are written like this. Obviously leave 007 as it is.

Quotations are single not plural marked

<> Should be erased for the first person is not used in Guide Entries.

Keep Writing smiley - biro This is great stuff

Hi Sonshi, and welcome to h2g2 smiley - smiley

I don't know much about cinema, German cinema particularly, so I hope one of our German film buffs will be along in due course to give this a proper review.

As far as I can see, it's well written and enjoyable to read - well done! smiley - ok

@Ianzababy

No, Christian is only a friend of mine. His MySpace page served as a basis for the general introduction, seeing that this is the only available "secondary literature". The rest is based on an interview.

The last sentence should have stressed two things: that I wish him the best of luck as a friend and that I'm looking forward to his next films. However, as you can see, I've now abandoned it for style reasons.

As all the others said, you did a very good job. Your essay is easy to read and to understand - even for somebody who has never heard about Christian Genz. You linked all the paragraphs very well and you gave a good overview of his works and life. Also the vocab you used is well chosen. It was interesting to read your article and now I wish to see some of his films!

Tanjanuss and Sonshi? Might I ask a question please? Have you been given a project to send in articles written in English here and comment on each others work?

I noticed that 'Modemraider' U13982104 is also a friend?

I'm sure this is a very worthwhile exercise for you all, but perhaps Peer Review is not entirely the best place? Maybe one of our esteemed Scouts or Sub-editors could give some advice on a more suitable venue? smiley - smiley

New members to h2g2 are always welcome and I'm sure you will succeed in your writing endeavours. smiley - goodluck

Nice article my friend smiley - winkeye

sometimes you forgot to put the film titles in italics, which doesn't matter that much, but still: if i'm not wrong "i am" and the second film (I just forgot the name...) are once not in italics each and "schlaflos" isn't in italics four times.

other than that, i'm really interested in the films now. do you know where i can buy "schlaflos"? since you know Mr. Genzel you might manage to get me a dvd - i'm willing to pay for it, of course!smiley - ok

Malabarista - now with added pony

I'm still not really seeing this as something other than advertising for an unknown director... smiley - erm

He's on a few social networking sites and gives (consistently negative) film reviews on a few sites.

There's also a rather amateurish film on imdb: http://www.imdb.com/video/wab/vi1088880921/

Oh, and Google also brings his profile on an astrology site - at the top of the second results page smiley - weird

The website for the "schlaflos" film has all of two(!) newspaper clippings about the premiere.

Somehow, that's not quite "Glory to the Filmmaker" - more "helping out a buddy".

Aren't links to W***pedia against house rules? And it's broken anyway.

A 'filmography' at the end would be good also.
