We had a wee jaunt yesterday down to St Andrews. We got there for the back of eleven and had a wee daunder aroun'. We visited the Botanic Gardens and then wandered round the town centre til' four-ish. There was a splended second-hand bookshop which charged reasonable prices so I picked up cheap Penguins - a complete Donne, and Elizabethan and Restoration verse anthologies. S got some maps of the Moray coast. This having a wee day trip thingie is quite fun. I got a really lovely smiley photo of S in the Botanic Greenhouses.
Next week we will see Graham Seed in The Mousetrap.
S's knees are in a bad state and walking is becoming a bit of a tchave. She has had x-rays and is down to see physios.
I am keeping busy at the Uni. I spent too too much time this week proofing an article for publication.
We have been watching the Guinness Smiley's People, and will finish the set tonight.
I am in the cubbyhole engaged in work avoidance. Actually, I have had a semi-productive day, broken only with a trip to Casa di... for bacon rolls and coffee.
We have had some bonny sunny days tho' chill.
S is going to start sending me off to work with a lunch-box.
I have been reading English land law.
We listened to the Simon Russel Beale Murder of Quality on the way down to St Andrews yesterday. Ver' good indeed. We saw a TV adaptation of it last week, with Denholm Elliot as Smiley in which he acquitted himself rather well.
I will not waste my £££s by seeing the new Die Hard flick.
The Boards go down tomorrow. Peet is being kept busy. Old posters have been coming out of the woodwork to say their goodbyes. I wonder of Ruthie - of chicken-abusing liar fame - will appear. I think I will watch the death throes.
Massive massive headline in The Sunday Herald - UK looses AAA credit rating. Yes, but who at?

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
