Susan gave me the creeps last night.

Miah was out when we went to bed. As I was dozing, several times, Susan got up and went to the door to see if Miah was nearby and wanted in. She would tap softly on the front door three or four times, and this all registered with me. The thought processes went, (i) Susan has vanished from beside me, (ii) there is somebody monkeying with the door, (iii) it is the middle of the night and the door may be unlocked, (iv) Susan is worried about Miah and I should be worried about her also.

Then the nightmares started. Hoodie yoot were sneaking up the stairs to demand money with menances, and worse. The door was unlocked and I couldn't get up to lock it as something would grab me if I tried. Not only was the door unlocked, but it had shrunk by an inch all the way round, leaving it shoogly in the frame. Even if I locked it one good push - from a 90 year old even - would burst it open...

I have just made a cheese and asapragus quiche for Susan's tea.

Foxy put on a good show last night, but unfortunately the downstairs bairnies saw her. I was happier when they were in ignorance of her, as they will now either plague her or their parents will start thinking back to Dingo Baby and may seek to prevent her visits. Och, maybe they won't - I am being too negative, but the fact is tha tI have come to enjoy foxy's visits. Mind you, I don't keep chicken or rabbits.

I should have noted that over the weekend, in our part of the 'deen, I saw a hawk, a deer and a fox.

We watched a 1981 BBC thriller last night - 4 x 30 mins - The Nightmare Man. Not bad. A young Celia Imrie and a younger Reg Hollis (Jeff Stewart I think, an Aiberdonian, who recently won a film award and now seems to be getting work again, which is nice). It was almost like a Dr Who reject, but fun enough, with James Cosmo, Maurice Roeves and the guy who played Tommy in Partners in Crime (aka Tommy and Tuppence). The polis all knocked back 'fiddich and smoked like lums. Period entertainment.

Right, Miah is back in and is at her brunch. Susan will have the management of her for the rest of the week, or should that be the other way round?
