G. will be so impressed with me. I have just caused an explosion, and the house is full of the smell of hot lubricant and electric.
Basically, the shredder was making a funny gravel in a cement mixer noise, so I cleaned out the blades then gave them a blast with silicone lube. Then I tried the machine out with a piece of paper.
BOUM. Flash fire (into the shredding bin, but so instant that nothing went ablaze. Then the stink of hot lube and electric, which takes me back to when I was 10 or so and similarly malky'd a Hornby Train Set.
The house is now airing but I know that the stink will be there when Susan gets home - she is seeing her mum, then visiting the shop, and the plan is that we should meet up in town around 5-ish for a wee drinkie.
Miah was asleep but has gone out. Explosions and cats don't mix well.
It is a driech day tho' dry.
