Right, I route-marched her over three miles today. We took the bus to Queen's Cross and had breakfast in a cafe there, then we walked to Rosemount and went to the 'real' butcher then a cheese shop, then we walked down to Union Street and did the charity shops and bought theatre tickets, then we had cawffee, then visited the Oxfam and a few more charity shops, then Casa di, then Morrisons', then back home on the bus. We were out from the back of 10 'til 4.30.
Purchases:
Steak pie, lamb and rosemary sausages, chorizos.
3 goodish chunks of cheese.
Three second-hand crime paperbacks - 2 x S J Bolton and one Nesbro.
A Doris Day DVD (The Pajama Game).
CDs - Aerosmith, Honkin on Bobo; Gary Moore, After the War; Hawklords, 25 Years On (2 CD set); Yo La Tengo, Prisoners of Love (2 CD set).
We had an ice cream sundae at Casa di. We had Belgian chocolate, apple crumble and fig & pear ice cream in it.
Susan is all walked out. It has been a dull windy day in Aiberdeen, but not too cold. Good weather for walking.
Re. Norway - it was on a news loop on a TV in the breakfast cafe. BBC News 24, I suppose. I can imagine the media frenzy and the absolute need to fill every second after the horror and for as long as possible with noise and vision, repetition repetition repetition... I believe that Sky TV video-looped the Murdoch flanning - the infinitely crashing second plane on 11/9 established a new TV news industry trope, and the infinitely falling through the trapdoor Saddam Hussein cemented it into place.
Theatre tickets - the Panto on 17/12, Verdict on 10/9 and Flying Pigs on 15/10.
Some interesting houses &c on the back streets from Queen's Cross up to Rosemount, and an overgrown Mary Garden garden.

Since I am only usually around for occasional brunch it was the first time I had tasted the icecream.
