I saw Deathly Hallows I at the Belmont Cinema ay 9pm and DH II at five past midnight. The 9pm showing was well attended in a smallish screen which became oven-like. The midnight showing was packed, in the big screen, which was cooler tho' the seats were less comfy. The mindnght showing was full of late-teens/early-twenties, many in Potter costume. The audience was appreciative and it was all great fun. The film got a big round of applaise, and I got home at the back of two.

I cannot over-emphasise the brevity of some of the clothing in what was an 80% youngish female audience.

Anyhow, II is far superior to I, tho' I has to be seen in order to get to II. A splendid roller coaster of a film full of great moments and altogether a cohesive and coherent work of art.

No more Potters, though - for a while, at least.

Susan's mum phoned at the back of 9 this morning and woke me up. She has taken to phoning Susan twice daily.

Susan went to the Surgery. She is not healing as well as expected.

This no washing machine situation is a real pain.

Brunch with G at Casa di tomorrow.

Aiberdeen cuty centre is a proper circus on a Thursday evening. Discarded take-aways mean seagull paradise. I got tapped by four beggars.

The aged-up Ginny Potter is a double for Sarah Brown.

The Murdoch Empire seems to be going into free-fall. Who'd have thought it - oh no, it wasn't airplanes, it was truth that killed the beast...

Is Neville magnificent?

I think we'll wait until the fuss had died down a bit, I haven't seen DH1 but we have the dvd so that'll soon be remedied.

Yes, Neville is rather good, and gets a couple of splendid lines.

Actually, the film works ver' well as an ensemble piece, and everyone gets their little turn in the spotlight. Dame Maggie got two rounds of applause and one burst of laughter. Julie Waters got cheered then a round of applause. Certain deaths were received with a respectful silence, and Rickman's meeting with the elder wand got a sotto voce 'no...' from somewhere to my right.
