I read the book years ago, and would quite like to see the film.
I have heard tapes of some of the Prankster Acid Tests. What strikes me about them is the compulsive self-aggrandising need to babble all the time... me Me Me MEEEE... Like Kesey's salute - years before Benny Hill - in the trailer linked to; parroted words and mimicked gestures, had recourse to so as to fill the silence.
30 years ago I thought Kesey & co admirable, tho' even then I had some unease, on account of the power structures and abuse of that power that ran thru' the book like a spine of iron. Now I rather despise them, but I'm still up for watching the film.
I watched a rather good Japanese SF last night called Bind Me No Gusher.
Health Visitor coming to see Susan soon.
Meeting with head of school at 2. What do I know about English Land l
law? Well, it's not Scottish Land law.
Re NOTW. Michty! Worse and worse. How low can it go? Stuff like this could/should bring a paper down.
Huffington Post now has a UK edition. I look at the US edition from time to time, generally using the link from Drudge. The US HP went downhill badly after the sale to AOL, and the UK version looks like a tricked-out riff on the Spectator website, but this is an instant response and it may grow on me with time.
Sausages for tea. SHopping and haircut on the agenda.

Very good line in Test about the 'soul authority' of even cool black men became as laughable nothing in the face of the lysergic intoxication.

Haircut is a mistake. Danny the Dealer says his hair are his aerials. My own hair is growing beautifully. When summer comes I've got a massive full body length caftan which will look good with my hair down and a pair of small rectangular shades. I've had the caftan for years (Francesca made me buy it) and have been busting for the right time and place to wear it. Can't wait for summer! Cape Town is such a chilled out place that I can finally wear my Thai cotton caftan.

For my head, to top off the caftan, I have a multicoloured crocheted skullcap which I bought in Rochester High St.
