I went in to town this morning. I got a preview of the new Yes album (out on Monday) and bought a stack of 20p Desmond Bagleys. I had brunch at Casa di... but don't let on to Susan.
Warm and sunny.
I will cut the grass out backie tomorrow.
Tomato and Mozzerella for tea, with salami and ciabatta.
I think that I will watch Ring tonight.
Miah is out.
Susan is doing a jig-saw.
I have decided that I do not like the new Marischal College frontage. The pavement is too wide and the flagstones too flashy; the statue - some hairy-apsed Scotch rebel - is absurd and unpatriotic (why not someone we can all be proud of, like Bomber Harris or the such-like?) and the benches cheapen the whole thing. It is like the sickness of st Nicholas House has seeped over the road and infected...
Also, the council have glass-fronted the archway leading into the quad. How can fire engines get through in the event of a fire affecting the north-east corner? Answer, drive the fire engine through the demme thing.

Was talking to one of our Fellows in the grad procession this morning, turns out she's an Aberdeen graduate, so we had a nice little conversation anent Marischal College, among other things. She was telling me that people are a bit cross that the Council guys are insisting on having new furniture, instead of taking the stuff they have in the tower block across the road ...

I am delighted to note your use of 'anent'. It is too good a word to be confin'd the Scotch.
When they demolish st Nicholas House, I am all for giving the staff two minutes warning - it's only fair, especially for the ones on the 12th floor. I am perhaps too kind-hearted.
