From S&T tutes wanting help with their revision.
Furthermore, I think I got good comments on the course evaluations.
Lamb curry for tea.
Susan got a new dressing gown, for the hospital. Miah found it in seconds and has slept most of the day on it. She - Susan - also got new PJs, but they make her look like Coco the Clown, and will be returned to M&S on Sunday.
I may soon get shot of C.19th merchant shipping law for a while.
I have to go to Uni. tomorrow to pick up keys for the room I'm getting to squat in next week. I will chap on Caius' door.
Arrangements have been made to meet Annie for lunch on Monday.
I heard something on BBC R4 news speculating that Gordon Brown might be a candidate for the IMF post. It was all very bland - nothing definite, nothing to suggest that he was even thinking about thinking about thinking about applying... a typical media puff*; let's run it up the flagpole &c &c.
Just about the only thing that might persuade me to sign up to the 2012 Mayan Calendar &c &c end of the world &c &c bandwagon would be Gordon Brown as the head of the IMF.
Miah is now up and at her supper. She will go out in a wee while.
Bonny day.
I'm no Lars V T fan, but it was sad to see him keep on digging himself into that hole.
I e-mailed G. yesterday but haven't heard back. He will doubtless be on a zombie-killing spree.
Elizabeth George - Inspector Lindlay - is rather good. As far as I can ascertain, she is a US citizen who lives and was educated in the USA. I have seen nothing in her bio. to suggest any particular links with the UK - family, former residence, whatever. She however does 'Brit' every bit as well as PJ James, and, in fact, somewhat better, as James is blinkered when it comes to we proles, whereas George does undreclass rather well. Her website 'opinion' pieces - well, the two I've read - come over quite leftie liberal wanting to express opinions but being ver' careful in her articulation of them so as not to alienate her US readership. I bought some of her books for Susan to take to hospital, but, on starting to read one, am thinking, naaaahhh...

* O Lud, sir, you are very ignorant, I am afraid! — Yes, sir,. puffing is of various sorts; the principal are, the puff direct, the puff preliminary, the puff collateral, the puff collusive, and the puff oblique, or puff by implication. These all assume, as circumstances require, the various forms of Letter to the Editor, Occasional Anecdote, Impartial Critique, Observation from Correspondent, or Advertisement from the Party.
The Critic is my favourite RBS.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
