Feeling my age

Post 1

Asmodai Dark (The Eternal Builder, servant of Howard, Crom, and Beans)

Its been nearly three years since Judoka Mark Roles picked up and threw someone. Three years since the same Judoka used a leg injury to have various friends skivvy for him for two weeks (it hurt for three days like hell, and was fine after, but they didnt know that and didnt care to ask...). Three years since Mark Roles proudly proclaimed his enterance into the open weight at a whopping 13 stone.

Since then, i have gained a stone, lost some hair and got extremely lazy. Being serious annoyed at this has meant a year of considering going back to judo. Roughly a year of nearly going, and nearly trying to lose weight. Well tonight i grasped this problem by the horns and went for it.

My sensei was happy and surprised to see me. I geared up, and again said to myself that my pants are to small (they were always small, but may have gotten smaller, who knows). I tied my belt like judoka of old and proudly bowed as i entered the dojo. Before me were various kids of around 4 to about 9. I was the oldest, largest, and second highest grade there. Easy enough thinks I.

Then all hell breaks out. The little kids start to run around and i follow suit. Except i didnt acknowledge that the last time i ran was nearly three months ago. Ouch.

Then, being the oldest, i was nominated test dummy, who sensei could throw in order to show the kids how to do things. Ouch.

Oh and during warm ups, sensei demanded cartwheels the git. I have never been able to do cartwheels, but he demanded i try, which went well until i got vertical, and landed flat on my back. My entire body aches and only the vodka and lime drink in front of me is keeping me alive.

Ah well, same trip thursday
