I havent been to bed since about 1pm yesterday, and when I've been up for 24 hours the good taste inhibiter switches off and I get very giddy, so you can imagine my reaction to the news that Steve Irwin had been killed by a sting ray. Lets just say that if I were to repeat what I did here this journal would be removed as insensitive..
You know I'd like to die like Steve Irwin - not killed by a stringray of course, more reflective or what I loved.
For example - crushed by a camera, crushed by my DVD collection, lead poisoning from years of old GW figures, perhaps from the metal and plastic filings working there way into my blood stream and stopping the flow of blood around my body.
Like I said on warseer, he was a daft sod for screwing around with animals that clearly wanted to eat him (the komodo dragon was the best - it bit him right through his shoes and chased him up a tree), but he clearly loved what he did and his pratting around was for a reason.
I remember him winning an award for best attraction in Oz, and he said something like 'See the wildlife does matter'. It was pretty odd because he had a go at all the other attractions for having no animals, but I liked him for that.
Heres hoping that baby Irwin grows up and follows in his dads footsteps... and stays well away from the great barrier reef; leave that one to the fish experts.

It's ironic that he got killed doing something which is about as dangerous as going for a car ride after all the stuff he's done in the past

Well thats the thing - if he had died in a car crash that'd be bloody bad, and the news wouldnt have cared. I think there as stunned and amused as the rest of us which makes a change...
