Asmodai Dark (The Eternal Builder, servant of Howard, Crom, and Beans)

Awhile back I mentioned about my horrendously offensive script that would digust most members of hootoo. I got a 59 for that piece of filth which is pretty damn impressive I have to say for something done in 6 hours on the day of the deadline.

Now, for some reason today I started to read over my journal enteries and came across this posted on the 28th of March:
'Anywho in roughly 5 hours I'm suppose to have a tutorial, which if I miss I'll lose 10% of my mark'

...

That means I actually got 69 for the script - given the fact that our boards are flexible (if enough people have done badly, the 70 required for a first can drop, or they can give 'the benefit of the doubt').

So, if I had turned up, I would have gotten a first. DAMNIT!

Iimagine the sheer joy I would have had in nailing that somewhere with its grade, knowing the sheer horrific nature of the script. If only I had turned up, or done some work earlier. Ah well, easy come..

Speaking of work, I've been very bad recently - three trips in three weeks have basically slowed my painting to a halt, and its crushing to be honest. I'm painting as much as I can tonight but I wish it was more.

Hopefully my bretonnian king should be painted and sent off tomorrow if not friday along with the limited edition standard bearer that I'm very fortunate to have painted. After that, Im suppose to be painting a ton of yellow figures which Im not looking forward too. Whilst I love painting yellow, and feel that my yellow is at a pretty good standard, its the middle of summer, meaning that each model is going to be a slog in its own right - and my comissioner likes big units.... very big units...

how long did they give you to write the script? smiley - erm sometimes I think everything should be due the next day since the 11th hour is when the actual writing starts anyway

Lets see one carry the three... add the.. about six months, 9 if you include the previous term where we got a booklet with the assignment in meaning we could have gotten a head start (pfft yeh right)

I do some of my best work, but I know it could be better with some things. Like the presentation that nearly killed me, but got my a first, or the films I've done which have all been editted right to the wire - my animation for example was sent ahead while I finished other work, so I never got to find out how it went down. In fact I've only been to one screening of my film, and it was the worst one I've made.

Gah theres bugs everywhere. Bloody heat wave bloody summer.

Seenow this year I only have to write three scripts, which wouldnt be so bad except ones competing against everyone else in my group, and the other two are for 'cult' TV shows. I'm pondering whether to make a thriller or a fantasy...

See, I want to make a fantasy mainly because no ones doing it and because I've got an idea for a hercules-esque hero. He'd be a spartan youth, going for the whole 'quest of redemption' thing but I'm stuck after that.

Its not so much him having stuff to do - theres certainly no problem there. The problem is giving it some girth. Do I have him interact with a helpless populace a la hercules, or do I go for a companion a la xena? I kinda have a thought about a prophetess, with them travelling around, her telling him what to do, him going along.

This is why I need paul and Max about. There cracking writers who I can bounce ideas off. I mean the stuff me and max have made, mainly involving challenging racial stereotypes, has been amazing.

And wow this turned into a very long post....

smiley - ok It's always swell to have input from others. As long as you enjoy it. Writing with others is fun and rewarding, and the results are often beautiful.

wasn't Herne a hunter with horns and savage pack of baying hounds? smiley - erm I remember reading Susan Cooper's The Dark Is Rising book in Middle School.
