Wow where to start?

Today I picked up the Merchant of Venice (4 quid - havent seen it but for that price who cares), The Machinest (again 4 quid, not seen it and again, who cares).

The Rashomon and Sanjuro for 12 quid a piece. Both excellent, both worth there weight in gold if you ask me.

Then again theres plenty of good bargains out at the moment like fifth element collectors edition, or even Firefly (a must buy).

What sort of DVD's are you after? Any genre or actor etc?

Wow, that was a good price for the Merchant of Venice! Is it the new one? Always meant to see that but never got round to it! Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check some of them out. I don't know what I'm looking for really, am just completely bored of my DVD collection, which to be fair isn't that expansive! I've got quite a ranged taste is films...my favourite film is 'Grosse Point Blank'. I'm also very fond of 'Garden State' and 'Battle Royale'. To my shame I also love the 'Ginger Snaps' trilogy . I like comedy...love 'The Mighty Boosh' but the comedy in most films seems too obvious for my liking. What sort of films are you into?

Theres a ginger snaps trilogy?? I've got the first on my shelf (another one of those 'its only four pounds, so I might as well' moments and I'd seen the dvd of the second in the shop but the third? Enlighten me).

Yeh Sanjuro and Yojimbo is that kind of comedy, very dark and subtle.

I'm going to take it as read that you've seen Leon and Amelie (if not, then go get them now - there roughly a fiver and although Amelie is french its bloody great). Theres also Bamboozled which isnt worth spending more then 4 quid on (extremely badly edited) however is a nice sublte film and really makes you think. The Aristocrats is like that - they both make you question comedy itself which I thinks fantastic.

How about Samurai Assassin (not baby cart - thats the japanesse language one). Nice and cheesey.

Something a bit more out there would be the likes of Gattaca and twelve monkeys.

I dunno what to suggest really. I think its that time of year when everyones fed up of there collection for one reason or another.

Depending on how big your film collection is, do you fancy whacking it down on here and letting me have a nosey - Ill do the same, but its easier to point someone in the right direction when you know what they own already.

Shockingly I haven't seen 'Amelie', just never got round to it. I love 'Leon', it was probably the first film I fell in love with. Right, here's my dvd collection, may have forgotten some of them as I'm pretty hungover at the moment (me + office party with free bar = illness!) and I've got a load more on video because I'm old school but as my videos broken they don't really count.

Not seen the third Ginger Snaps, but have ordered it. It's set in 19th Century Canada where Brigette and Ginger are staying in a Traders' Fort, which comes under attack by some werewolves, apperently. Sounds a bit dogdy but I'm hoping that it's one of those 'so bad it's good' films, lol!

Urgh, going to crawl back into bed and wait for this hangover to pass!

Hmmm strange I havent posted here in a week, oh well..
And VHS isnt old school! You can buy some great priced films on VHS (hooray for pound shops!)

A mixed haul - Truman show is by one of my favorite writers (Andrew Niccol), whilst I've only seen half of Ghost World and fell in love with it. Dear Wendy looks fantastic in that independant american film making way, whilst almost famous is spinal tap for this generation.

And Jeeves and Wooster? Thats an indulgence, with phantom menace there to complete my set.
