ok 4 weeks so far.. around 50 researches is that right? and one reply.
I am not depressed about this. what i am finding annoying is silly questions like tell me about dday... when they could just search the web
feel that i am alone - except for the odd researcher like L jackson who seems to be around as much!

Hello Starfish
I'm not keeping count, but I do sympathise about the irritating silly questions. Bear in mind however that some of these come from children, some from people who are not web-literate and some from people whose first language is not English.
Fortunately my training in answering silly questions for MPs has trained me to work out what it is that a questioner should be told which is not necessarily what they asked for! I take satisfaction in doing the task as well as I can and learning as I go. I may get bored with it eventually though.
But then again, I'm also in the IT industry, so I don't have a real life to distract me either.
Cheers, Lindsay.

Today has presented a total shock - 2 replies - ok one was for my journal but never mind.
The article on the surrender of the Vittio and littoria is very interesting - is suspect the bombers were in he right place at the right time. If someone in a rowing boat had appeared the flotilla would have surrendered - interesting that they knew the signal code. Be interesting to see.
I thought my journal was only for me, but anyway...
- I agree with you entirely - grr grr - and education is half the fun.
- Yes a lot of time people don't ask the right question to the answer they want to know.
- There was me thinking its because we know how to get what we want quickly.
Having said that i am enjoying the breath of questions - from the concentration camps to the battles to the uniforms to lost pals.
Good stuff overall, just wish people would reply and say thanks - still feel that there are only a few hard- core researchers.
But otherwise we soldier on...

Hi Starfish,
I hope the questions that I ask don't seem stupid. The quest for the answers can be daunting when searching the information highway. I will always be grateful for any help offered to me in my quest for the answers to my questions and will always reply to comments or offers of help made. Your help to date has been very encouraging. Keep up your good work, it is appreciated.
Regards,
Rob Jerram.

Rob, Hi - no not at all and thank you very much for your comments.I originally wrote this as my journal - but it appeared in my message list.. .the journal was really just me dumping stuff out.
I think that your story is very interesting. Also it isn't an easy find on the web, which makes it even more interesting. I look forward to what is found out.I am still searching around for what i can find, so far nothing.
I still slightly annoyed that more people pose a question but don't bother to reply - this kind of makes me feel there is no one there. Of course this isn't true, but thats how i feel. However, against that its good to see how many questions are picked up by the researchers.
still if we were able to answer all the questions i suspect i would be bored.
regards,
Starfish
