21 pounds lost.....21 pounds lost....21 pounds lost....

I have finaly got myself motivated and on the right track....

I have been stopping and starting diets since January 1st... But now I am on week 5 and having lost 21 pounds already. I know I can be at my target of 9 stone by October.

Anyone else want to join me in a diet motivation thread please do....

I will start with a bit about me:-

I am a 42 year old mother of 3 teenagers. I have let myself go since turning 40....well thats not strictly true...I did manage to get down to a size 8 (lost 5 stone) shortly after my 40th birthday but I didnt maintain it. So here I am again...this time with just 2 stone to lose...(was 3 and a half stone but Ive lost 21 pounds already)

My downfall is the mainenance side of a diet...I tend to think well, I am skinny now so can eat what I like....WRONG!....moderation is the key to longterm success. I am not stupid, just a little hopeful!

I have a theory though that the attention and compliments whilst losing weight is very addictive and maybe I regain so that I can lose and go through that situation all over again....(dont think so....)

So this time....when I hit goal, I will moderately adjust my eating so that I stay the same rather than lose anymore or HORRORS - Gain

I adore Cheese, Chocolate, Wine, Tiramissu, Red Peppers, Onions and bread (not all in the same bowl!)

I hate fish, cold eggs, humous, prawns (in fact any seafood), Raspberrys, and old men in caravans

Anyone ready to be my diet buddy?

OK - Will take it over there

Is that also the place to debate about the following:-

My son has been called as a witness in a court case later this month. Today he has been offered a job (seasonal work) on the proviso he takes no time off.. Now he has to attend the court as he has been summoned...does this mean he will have to turn down the job? and if his employer lets him go to the court as a witness will the court compensate him any money he lost from not being able to work on that day?

I'd say take the job. Then the day before the court case tell the employer you've been summonsed. At least that way the worst that can happen is they have to pay up for the time worked up to that point. Alternatively, take the job and write to the court explaining the conditions of your employment. The case could be adjourned until you can attend, or you may be excused. Either way - take the job.

Did jury duty a while back - they will compensate you for lost earnings up to a point. You also get a food allowance (fiver a day, their cantine prices are a bit silly but you get anything you haven't spent from this put in your account at the end), and may get travel expenses paid if you keep your bus tickets or whatever.

I would assume its the same for witnesses?

RT JFC, can your son be deposed on video? That way he will have been able to make his statement and not lose his job, and can be called back in only if cross-examination is truly needed. Which it would be, if he's the only witness... smiley - erm

He is the only witness as well, unfortunately its quite a nasty case and he really didnt want to get involved but its the right thing to do. Cant say more until after the case...
