Hello,
I got into an interesting conversation the other day about what defines taste, not the sense, but taste in music taste in films just basically the things one likes.
Perhaps this is a matter of psychology but i would like to try and keep it understandable to layperson.
So anybody that would like to discuss this or just educate me i would be most grateful to you.

Hello Vaskadenisov,
I don't think there is an answer to your question,
Taste, in the sense of what we like or enjoy, is an entirely personal thing. It probably starts in childdhood with the feeling of being at ease and comfortable with the things that suround you, and what your family do. That is to say, what books did they read to you, what music was played in the home, what outdoor activities did you enjoy.
It gets refined as you go through teenage rebellion yearsand into your 20's. Then it may be influenced by exposure to TV and modern media including music and films.
It is all entirely a personal journey and I suspect that finally we end up liking a wide range of art, literature, music, social activities etc , but actually indulging in the few which give us the greatest sense of warm satisfaction.
As to good and bad taste, they are just the acceptable or unacceptable behaviour in the society prevalent now.
