h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Despite the small amount of energy I have, I really think it was worth the effort, because I do have created a good idea and practical plan about what our h2g2 community could mean for those on the globe who are fighting to survive day by day. Every H2G2 member with his/her own potentials and limits.


Our H2G2 community starts a special Entry for a poll by H2G2 once a year (september) about the project of an organisation and after that, at the same Entry, the h2g2 memebers start to organize items like this;


- h2g2 peoples who want to anticipate in the choosen project
a part of their days off.

- a special Entry about the "item of the year" will be written, maybe like A474653

- raising money and any other relevant materials.

- at the end of the road, the helping community could meet at the end of the yearly period,in real life, somewhere in London.

- and ofcourse, évery development in the future will be written about at H2G2 ("Help to Give")and hopefully it will be more than "charity" and that peoples from the project we support(ed) will share their lives here, at H2G2.(They also can "Help and Give" = to open our eyes for what goes on).


To me, it's not a bad idea.

Well, I was writing these days about orphan homes in Romania and discovered that someone had given time and care to it in Rolmania and had written about it in several special Entries. A474653

My idea/plan was born.

I think its a good idea and even if it doesnt pan out as you intend a forum for people to share their experiences could only be a good thing. Such a way of off loading bad experiences and with other people who have been through the same tough days and a place where people could see the sense of fulfillment that comes from the good days would help those who do and possibly encourage those who dont do volunteer work.
