David, This morning I lost a good friend in Frank Mee who was kicked off as a researcher .I read your welcoming letter to Frank.I am at loss why he has to quit.I tried to send him an answer to his last letter ,but I have a feeling that he will not get it.
I was going to write Ron a note too, but he disappeared as well.A short introduction:
I have been writing my war stories during thr german occupation in Holland under the name Odyssee.
Frank was a great help urging me to keep on writing when I doubted whether I should .I am in contact with Anak Bandung who wrote about experiences of her mother on Java during WW2.
I was born in the same city, but did not return till after the capitulation of Japan as an R.N.
Little is written about what happened to people in Holland or the Dutch East Indies during WW2.Important as it is for future generations.
I feel like a I have to stop writing.
What do you think??I need some moral support since Frank is off the screen.Josephine User ID 555516

Hello Josephine Thank you for your message. Frank Mee wasn't 'kicked off' the site, he has left the site under his own free will and will hopefully return again in future. Dear David, Thanks for your answer. I only just found it.(15july) I apologise ior my statement about Frank "being kicked off." it is figuratively speaking :by the attacks of B. Peter,that made him quit.This remark does not mean that the WW2Forum made him quit.
Today I also found a note from Ron.
After the altercation with B.P. I quit sending in any more stories.
I would like to know whether I should write about our flight to London, a short summary about Wolverhampton,the trip to Australia on a troop ship: no bloodcurdling stores here; also what happened to us in Indonesia after the capitulation of Japan. This ties more or less in with Anak B. story of the concentration camps, but it is strictly speaking post war as my observations are concerned.
But just as Frank wrote about post war experiences, it might give some insight of the terrible things that happen to people after the official ending of a major conflict.
Do you want me to contact the People's War team about this?
I couldn't believe my eyes after I spotted the name:"Anak Bandung."Both uf us were born in Bandung. My parents returned to Holland in1930 ( they appr. spent only 11 years there ) I returned after VE day to take care of concentration camp victims:Rob and her mother were in one of those camps.
Small world!And with the new communications it will become smaller,but it will give us a chance to get interested in other people and thus be able to help each other if and when possible.

Sorry for the delayed reply. I've had a chat with some other members of the People's War Team about your wish to put up a post war story. The general rule of thumb on the site is that if the story concerns the 'fallout' of the war or reparation and liberation then it will definitely be a welcome addition to the site, as your story sounds like it will be

It's lovely to hear that you are getting some results from the community aspect of the site as well. Taking an interest in other members of People's War and talking about the stories which are being submitted is the other exciting and often very rewarding side of the People's War project.

Hello David, Thanks for answering my questions about what I can write -post war-mainly.Now I have another problem: Anak B. and I really clicked and wrote a lot to each other and getting to know each other better.
The last note before she had to entertain her family was in the# 40's.When I clicked on her page the letters stop at the# 20's.What happened ?I also found a letter from her as answer to a story I wrote about an experience in Holland.
Is there a certain system to follow?
It seems there are letters all over the place and I am not aware of it.
I also found a letter from Frank date: 14 April of A- B and the Queen of Holland to Hans Gramps-her grandfather???
If you are not too busy could you look into this?Thanks, I forgot how to send you a Smiley face.Since I don't have a printer it is hard to remember

Are you still having problems with this thread? If you could send me a link to it (just copy the full address in the top bar in your browser window) I can look in to it for you

The one suggestion I can give you in the meantime is to try looking at the top of the page which had the messages 1-20 for a link that says 'messages 21 to 40 >>' If you click on this link it should take you to the following page of messages, let me know how you get on.

The best place to see if you have messages left for you on the site is firstly your Pigeon Hole on your Personal Page (which I'm sure you're aware of ) and if you scroll further down the page there is a section called 'My WW2 Forums' which will show you any updated forums which you are subscribed to...
