This is my first ever journal entry here, which explains the subject line, as opposed to the other first times in my life where I had ventured forth and did something completely new, like milking a cow or something.....which I actually haven't done before, but may get around to doing someday. And I suppose since its my journal, I am allowed to ramble on a bit before it gets a little more interesting, although I doubt if anyone out there would actually find anything I write remotely interesting at all.
OK, now down to business, in my introduction, I had already mentioned that I am a fan of Douglas Adams, having read everything he had published in book form, with the notable exception of The Meaning and The Deeper Meaning of Liff.
These books have provided me endless hours of fun, and had provided me a much need escape from the reality of marriage, parenthood and living an expatriate existence in Jakarta, and also make 2 hours of traffic jam seem more tolerable.
(is there any limit to the length of this thing?)
Now....Jakarta, Indonesia, 12 years here, been through it all, the good times when all you touch turns to gold, the bad times when all the gold turned into glitter, and today, where the only thing turning is my stomach, its either the scotch from last night, or more pictures of the Marriott bombing in the papers.
The one thing the journalists of the world should agree on, is that.....(to be continued)
Key: Complain about this post
