Having given notice that I would be vacating my rental house, I anticipated a hectic, but typical, one day packing spree. This is the usual method I use for moving. Purchase atleast 20 garbage bags, and spend one day jamming as much crap as possible into them, except of course for the live ones like the dog, that's just cruel.
The day before this nearly yearly event, my truck ceases to start, due to a faulty starter. This compounds into ceases to start due to a completely disentigrated starter, all during a long weekend.
Five full days pass before the landlord really, really wants me to vacate the premises. I then find myself homeless, in Kelowna, BC, having spent all sorts of moving money on making the truck run. Which it completely refuses to do.
